  2. Be aware that bandwidth and other things may not be free. Bandwidth is almost always #1 on serious bills. Tread carefully.

  3. Oracle’s desperation to get developers – or anyone – to take their cloud seriously spawned one of the better, if not best, free tiers for cloud services out there. No joke, it’s ridiculously generous and homelabbers in particular should check it out.

    Granted, it’s Uncle Larry’s Big Red company, so the suggestion to use a virtual card from [privacy.com](https://privacy.com) is a good one because who knows what will change down the road but right now it’s a big bag of “cloud” services for free with no strings attached.
