  1. That’s good. Never found a reason to pay for something like this, when it can be broadcasted online. Same as Apple’s WWDC event …

  2. I dunno to me it feels like the speakers are only presenting as a means to promote their new product/service/eBook rather than because they want to actually teach people anything valuable. Cheapens the experience for for me. At least its free now I suppose!

  3. The cost to make it online are low, but I expect that this format becomes the new norm as ad revenue (as I expect they will push aggressively) may be greater than the attendance income. Plus, you can reach a wider audience, even those who are just read recently about it.

Hopefully it becomes a success. There are some great talks that are lost behind a paywall and then lost to time.

  4. Both type of events must take a lot of planning, it’s not sure the day of the event it’s dealing with talk submissions, reviews contacting all involved. Marketing, attaining sponsors and lots of other things probably. I’ve never tried to organise one myself I’m sure it’s not at easy as hey everyone jump on zoom done.

  5. Looks like OP got too excited about the news…. Should’ve corrected the title.

None the less, question to OP, are you related to this event in any shape or form?
