Same here, i’ve knew about docker since some time but in the last week I went into learning how it works and started using it for a home project, followed by small testing server at work.
I’m glad you found it it is an amazing piece of technology what surprises me are people are still discovering containers 8 years after it’s initial release. Some of this was available with FreeBSD jails going back to the 90’s.
I tried and failed to get my head around it until I set up an unraid server. Now adding and maintaining containers is so easy even my caveman brain can do it.
It’s great isn’t it! The only downside for me was getting started, so…
I wrote a **[Docker for Web Developers](https://dockerwebdev.com/)** book and video course because I couldn’t find good tutorials which explained how to create local development environments. Use the discount code `dock30` for 30% off.
I’ve literally been like “can I put this in docker” about all the things
Ive been about docker lately too, just wish I understood hosting docker projects better. From what I know I have to pay digital ocean or Amazon :/
Continue the journey:
– FreeBSD jails
– LXC containers (What Docker was before Docker)

Love it too !!!
Dockerfiles are really cool
Right. I started taking docker seriously a week or two ago and it’s so much better than VMs and bare metal.
I’ve moved most of my websites to docker a custom container. it’s 10x better and easier.
I also really like portainer. it makes docker 100X better
