Taylor confirms laravel/ui is not going anywhere and will be updated for future Laravel versions

Taylor has just gone on YouTube with a live stream and has confirmed laravel/ui isn't going anywhere in the future.

He explains the wording of the readme maybe wasn't clear on this but the Laravel team has had discussions internally (from what I gather this was even before the Laravel 8 release) that laravel/ui will be supported for at least the foreseeable future.

Can we all please calm down now and get back to making killer software 🙂

  1. great. I was very afraid when I saw “This project should no longer be used on new Laravel projects.”. And Now i checked it shows “This project is a very simple authentication scaffolding built on the Bootstrap CSS framework. For something more robust,…….”.

I am very happy now 😀

  2. Great to see!

Weird to see Taylor calling it a “*Readme misunderstanding*” though, putting the blame on users – let’s call it what it is, a (very welcome) change in direction by the Laravel team to keep this package up to date.
