Migrating your Chrome Extension to the new Edge Chromium based Extensions store

Hi Extensions developers!

Microsoft recently shipped the [new Edge](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge?form=MA13DC&OCID=MA13DC) based on the Chromium engine and the extension model is now fully compatible with the Chrome extension model you already know. The migration / publication process to the [Edge Addons Store](https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/category/Edge-Extensions?hl=en-US) is then very straightforward and we blogged about the steps to follow here: [Get started building extensions for the new Microsoft Edge](https://blogs.windows.com/msedgedev/2019/12/16/get-started-extensions-addons-microsoft-edge-chromium/).

It could be a good opportunity for you to be discovered from a brand new store with few efforts 😉

Feel free to ask questions or give feedback about this new Extensions store, I'm in direct relationship with the people working on those features in the Microsoft Edge browser teams.

Thanks!

David

  1. It was indeed very straightforward. I ported my extension a while back. The hardest part was actually navigating [Microsoft.com](https://Microsoft.com). As for questions, any plans to implement install stats? I would rather not add analytic trackers to my extension directly as that would be too intrusive.
