  1. I think the new design is really nice. Even though it’s Material Design, the flat UI fits so much better with the flat Windows 10 design language. Here’s the kicker though, I’m convinced that people don’t like the look because they gave it all of 5 seconds before researching how to get rid of it. I’ve been running it for many months at this point and you couldn’t pay me to go back to the old version. It just looks so dated in comparison.

  3. I love it! They announced material design years ago and I was starting to wonder if they were ever going to update one of their biggest apps with it.

  4. Im not a fan of it because it reminds me of the chrome mobile UI, which isn’t bad in itself, Im just tired of every program I use trying to look more and more like their mobile counterparts. I am just not a fan of the style.

  5. Text is too small on material, all my addon buttons shrunk in size, I can’t use the scroll wheel in my rss feed anymore on material either.

Nope sorry that shits gotta go.

  6. I *guess* I can get used to the smaller address bar and the cleaner design, but I don’t like how the incognito window now has a black address bar. I don’t have Chrome on mobile so I don’t know if that’s a thing on there too, but it really sticks out on a lot of sites and makes it obvious you’re in IC from a distance.

  7. I switched to it on v. 52 by enabling the flag after seeing it on Macbooks. I like the new look, but I tend to be very accepting of flat UI design trends as of late.

  8. I was wondering whats wrong with chrome when it was all crisp around the bookmarks bar and omnisearch box whatever its name, I thought that they finally added HiDPI support for chrome and it looks beautiful.

Weird everytime I search (blue instead of green) but I love it.

  9. I think it looks terrible on 1440p – the buttons and font look extremely small now. I was wondering if somehow the Windows zoom or DPI settings got messed up.

  10. The blue dot for notifications on a pinned tab is so much better than the shitty “reflection” effect they had before. It was barely even noticeable.

  11. When I search anything now, links are blue… not just all black or green like they used to be… I hate it… Changed back immediately. I guess I’m just not one for change… The biggest problem is no more curves to the tabs as they’re just straight angles and look way too sharp, and makes it look like a middle school kid designed it using the shapes in Microsoft’s PowerPoint.

  12. The new design grew on me. For somereason google chrome offered me a new update a few weeks ago with the new look, eventually I became used to it. When I reverted to the old look, something feels off, like when you apply an “off-brand” skin/theme. Like the sizes of shapes and fonts give off a “counterfeit” vibe. The material design felt like it was inefficient with vertical space, but now I don’t notice it. I agree with other users, it fits well with Windows 10 now.

  13. **i like it a lot actually. it looks visually pleasing to me.** when i think of ‘chrome’ though, as in *real life chrome* – it’s rounded and smooth. 🙂 i still like it though!

*…now if they can get bookmarks syncing properly or at least give us some control of what to sync when*; and while you’re at it, how about a genuine *bookmark duplicate finder* since my bookmarks get duplicated every time i sneeze!

yes i have tried some of the extensions, and they just don’t feel near as nice as the old am-deadlinks (4.6 works, sorta), plus i haven’t given x-marks a try yet. apologies for the derailment… i’m just going nuts trying to keep my bookmarks in some sensible order, i just don’t trust google’s sync anymore. 🙁

i would much rather google spend time on half-completed or broken products that have potential than some *gloss* to make the browser look nice. *shrugs*

  14. Oh God. I thought I was the only one who noticed. And suprisingly, I like it! It saves space and looks way more modern.
